Our Story

Saw Dogz started with a simple idea: felling dogs could be made better.
The concept was inspired by the craftsmanship behind modern knife making, where precision machining, controlled heat treatment, careful finishing, and attention to detail turn a simple piece of steel into a purpose-built tool.
We wanted to bring that same approach to felling dogs.
That meant looking beyond just the shape. Geometry, material selection, machining, heat treatment, hardness, toughness, surface finish, and real-world performance all became part of the development process.
What followed was extensive prototyping and testing. Different materials, heat treatments, and designs were tested, including parts that bent, cracked, or broke. Each result helped refine the process and better understand what was needed for a hard-working felling dog.
Today, Saw Dogz are CNC machined from carefully selected alloy steel, professionally heat treated and tempered to balance hardness and toughness, and tested for durability and performance. The goal isn't simply maximum hardness. It's creating a felling dog that can retain its shape under demanding use while maintaining the toughness needed to resist cracking and brittle failure.
The premium TiN surface finish isn't just for looks. The hard, low-friction coating helps improve wear resistance, reduce surface friction, and provide additional protection against corrosion while giving Saw Dogz their distinctive finish.
Saw Dogz is built around the idea that even a simple, hard-working part deserves precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
